Where Are You Now

Where are you now, my friend?
Did you lock the door
although I even did not leave?
Is there so much noise
that you just close your eyes
not to see the waves rolling ashore?
Cut the strings attached to your mouth
and laugh as never before.
Listen to the birds singing for you
while building their nests.
I played the flute for you,
but you refused to listen.
I read the verses to you,
but you would not hear.
I showed the heavens to you,
but you declined to see.
At last, I said a prayer for you,
but you only expected miracles.
Why then, are you writing?
